So I'm ordering my e1405 today with the dual core, 1GB RAM and 60 GB Hard Drive and an upgraded 9cell battery. Two questions.

I've decided on the matte screen. So as long as i didn't choose the upgrade TrueLife screen, I'll get a matte screen correct?

And also does the 9cell battery change the geometry of the laptop as far as sticking out? Thanks

If you don't choose Truelife, you will get a matte screen.

The 9-cell battery sticks out less than an inch from the back (about 0.75 inch). But I would rather get an "additional" 9-cell bettery instead of upgrading a 6-cell battery to a 9-cell battery. The price difference is only like 30 bucks. Think about it. If you pay only 30 bucks more, you can get two batteries instead of one. I think it's a no brainer, and it's actually what I did when I bought my E1405.

    I hope this helps.

Ditto. It's obviously more cost-efficient to pay the extra $30. Even if you decide that you only want to keep one of the batteries, you can compare the sizes of both batteries in person, & then sell the one you don't want.
