I have heard rumors of the e1505 accepting and utilizing 667mhz ddr2 (pc5300) memory, even though Dell only offers it with 533mhz PC4200.

I wonder if anyone has seen any dell spec sheets or knows if the e1405 (640m) can also utilize this faster memory? I got mine with the bare minimum 512mb in hopes of upgrading to 2gb of 667mhz (it is supposed to arrive tomorrow).

Yes it can; if you try configuring the E1405 through Univ. you can configure it with DDR2 667.

If I order this with 1x 1gb 667mhz ram, can i easily pickup a corsair or something so-dimm and wack it in to run 2x 1gb in dual channel without any problems? Do they have to be identical brands/ram for it to run in dual channel?
