I know that the highest graphics card that Dell offers for the e1505 is the x1400. Alien-ware sells the 15.4" laptop with an available geforce 7600. Since Dell owns both companies is the motherboard & graphics card close enough to be able to switch parts? If so, owners of the e1505 would have another upgrade option. Has anyone looked into this possibility?

    No, it is not possible.

Alienware is owned by Dell but functions separately meaning they are still largely independent and still design/build their own systems.

It will never be possible unless the E1505 is released with the 7600 part in some later revision. The E1505 graphics slot is Dell-proprietary, and Alienware hasn't changed their designs so I'm 100% certain the two are not compatible.
