Hi everyone,
I have a 1505 that I bought from Costco in April of 06. I'm trying to burn a Verbatim DVD+R DL disc but the drive thinks all the discs are already full when I try to burn them. I chatted with a Dell tech and asked him to confirm that the drive can burn Dual layer discs. He said it could and sent this page as confirmation. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/storage/P94660/en/specs.htm. He had me update the BIOS and drive firmware but neither thing helped.
He said he'd have to have someone call back the next day to get the problem sorted out. The next tech I spoke to said that this drive can't burn DL discs.
The drive is a TSSTCORP DVD+-RW TS-L532. I've haven't found solid evidence that it can actually burn DL discs.
When I run Nero's InfoTool it shows that it can burn DVD+R DL.
So, is there anyone with an E1505 and a TS-L532 Drive that has ever burned a dual layer disc? If they have then I can work on getting this one replaced.
Thanks for any help or ideas you have

I don't have your model, but I'd imagine any computer bought within the last year should be able to burn DL discs. According to the link you gave, your computer can definitely burn DL discs. Have you tried another disc? Perhaps this particular one is defective.

Thanks for the reply,
Yeah, I bought a 5 pack and tried 3 of them. Same result with each, drive said it was already full and finalized. My friend was able to burn 7GB's to one of the discs that my machine saw as full...
I've read quite a few posts of people having problems with this model drive. Just wish Dell would make up their mind on its capabilities
