Hi everyone looking into picking up an e1505 and wanted to upgrade my ram not via dell. I have been researching for awhile and it seems the getting my hands on 667mhz memory is an expensive bet.

Seems many of the memory configurators on the web aren't giving the 667 option. I see quite a few 667 chips at newegg but not sure if they will function correctly. I guess my question is if the memory specs that are below are found on newegg are they guaranteed to function OR could there be some sort of difference in the dell e1505 that prevents them from working properly.

    1GB - 667MHz DDR2-667/PC2-5300 - DDR2 SDRAM - 200-pin SoDIMM

That will work fine in your e1505. You can also use 533 mhz memory. You will see no performance decrease, especially if you are looking at higher latency 667 RAM. Whatever is cheaper, I suppose.

Because the e1505 has a 667 mhz bus, it can use either 533 or 667 mhz memory, if you are curious about performance differences, search the hardware forum or google.

    cheers

I can vouch for this memeory:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231069
I've been running 2 stick of it in my 1505 for a month without any issues.

Would the 533 higher CAS memory run any cooler than the 667 slower CAS? If so and the performace is equal, I'd get the 533.

    FYI purchased the following:
    2 x (90054) Corsair VS1GSDS667D2 1GB DDR2-667 PC2-5300 Value Select SO-DIMM Memory Retail

after reading a few users had them in there e1505 and IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE. I have 2 e1505 and I tried the modules in both and BSOD. I actually purchased from zipzoomfly because I didn't have to pay tax.
