I recently returned my e1705 because the resolution was too high.

I am going to go with the e1505 and will mostly like choose the xga with Truelife. I Believe this is the 1280 x 800 setting.

Or I can upgrade to the sxga Ultrasharp. - My question is, how is the 1280 x 800 setting on this screen since it optimized for 1680x1050?

I believe 1680x1050 will still be too much for my eyes when surfing the net and such...

    Any pictures I can see?

    Thanks

Actually you can adjust the font size even in the 1680X1050 mode
I used the 120 DPI setting and it looks pretty good(96 DPI setting is also clear but the font is too small)

The font isn't what I'm worried about, it is the actually size of everything.

Most websites are designed in 775x600 and it makes them look VERY narrow and small with all the space to the left and right....

Anyone go with the 1280 resolution here that is happy?

first off, and i don't mean to be rude about this, but maybe you should be considering some glasses cause changing up the DPI should be more than enough to make things big enough for you. Secondly don't go for the lower res screen just so you've got bigger icons, thats like cutting you nose off to spite your face, it won't help you and will hurt you in the long run. You seriously should have tried increasing the DPI setting on your e1705 before returning it (i read the other thread you posted and it sounds to me like you didn't even bother trying it, if you did i appoligise) Going for a lower screen res just means you have less pixels on your screen to play with not that things are necessarily going to be bigger.

No offense taken. This laptop was my for my college sister and the main issue was it was a bit too big for her to be lugging around. I think the 1505 may still be a bit big, but much better.

The icons and such were not the issue. I did change the DPI setting, etc. It was the actual resolution. And when on websites the sites were just way too narrow and I didnt need soo much real estate.
