I was wondering if there was a cheaper source to purchase additional memory for the E1505? I see that the Dell homepage sells 2GB 667mhz memory, but sells it at a price close to $160. Is there any place that sells it cheaper perhaps? I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out as I am looking for a cheaper, but still quality alternative.

Yeah defiantly look at the HOT RAM Deals! thread in the Notebook & Tech Bargains section as dferrey mentioned.

What kind of memory does the E1505 use? There are so many different kinds, (eg. PC5300, PC5400, etc). Also, I noticed there is 4GB ram for notebooks. Though Dell does not offer it as an option on their E1505 notebooks, if compatible, is it actually possible for the E1505 to use 4GB ram?

Ebay has some nice memory deals

it's the best timie to buy notebook memory now, in the past month there have been plenty deals for such memory as low as $25 for 1GB of 667mhz DDR2 memory. -
The crucial.com website is pretty good for figuring out the exact RAM specs you need. Copy down the specs, and start shopping. 1GB sticks are a pretty good deal right now -- I just bought a pair of G.Skill for my soon-to-arrive M1210 for about $80 total.

I just picked up 2GB kit for my D830 from crucial.com for $87 shipped. Better deals to be had but I have never (knock on wood) had a bad stick of memory from them.

It uses DDR2 SODIMM PC4200/4300 or PC 5300/5400 RAM. It can support both 533 MHz and 667 MHz RAM. The BIOS will say whether it supports 4 GB of RAM. Have a look around on the Dell website, or contact Dell themselves to find out.
