    e1505 Spec's
    Screen: WSXGA+
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400

I am running my e1505 at the highest resolution (1680x1050)...
And webpages are showing up blurry/distorted... everything looks real grainy.
Any idea's on how to fix this?

I have the same as you. I tried to update graphic driver but It didn't help. I don't know we need to have flash Bios or not

Check your display settings. Control Panel-->Display-->Settings.

Your screen resolution should be 1680 x 1050 ( i believe). Also click on advance, and see what your DPI setting is (under General tab). By default, dell usually has it at 120, and normally you should have it at 96.

Yup, do what SG said, that should fix the problem for sure. Dell is lame and seems to put 120 dpi as the standard when the ship laptops and it looks horrible. Don't worry nothing is wrong with your hardware!

why do they do that? is there any benefit to putting it to 120dpi?

Actually the solution is in Dell's QuickSet program. If the DPI is set to 120, then Internet Explorer Scaling option could be on. Go to QuickSet -> Display Settings and unselect the IE Scaling option. ;)

Use Firefox or some other browser, works perfectly. IE sucks.

The original poster was using FF - which is why i suggested the DPI method. As far as I know IE scaling utility only works on IE.

I just got my 1505 and my screen looks washed out and grainy as well. I've tried the ideas listed, but none have seemed to help me. I have the problem in all software...not just IE.
I set to 96 dpi, used quickset to turn IE scaling off, checked my resolution turned cleartype on/off ... all with no luck.
I'm hoping someone has some new ideas ?
    Thanks,
    scollins
