Is it possible anymore to get a brand new e1505 with XP instead of Vista?

I know in the canadian dell site you are able to buy some dell computers w/ xp (banner on the right side of the screen).

Not sure about the american site.

Again, not sure on the models.

You could try the Dell outlet, they have previously ordered new E1505's with XP on them, among other notebooks with XP on them. Also, Dell small business offers some E1505's with XP on them.

So I looked at the buisness laptops and the 6400 can come with XP, compared to the e1505 would the two work pretty much the same for DVDs, web design, and a little gaming? Or is there going to be a big diffence?

I believe the two are the same exact laptop, just named differently. So there should be no difference at all, except maybe in price.

That's correct. The e1505 and the 6400 are the exact same computer.

I don't think they are... one has a slot for PCMCIA cards (6400) and the 1505 has the newer express card slot. The express card slot may not be useful right now but there are a ton of things planned for it, including an external high end graphics card... see http://www.pcmcia.org/ I have the e1505... Dell will give you $75 for your Vista install software and you can buy a copy of XP for about $90 new... or get a used one on e-bay. Buy the 1505 with the ATI 1400 graphics card and you won't be disappointed.

They may have changed that with the newer 6400 models... Someone brought this up in another post so it's worth considering.

Do you think it would be better for me to get the e1505 with Vista, or the 6400 with XP(cheaper)?
The thing is, the e1505 with Vista would almost need 2GB, but the 6400 with XP would only need 1GB, and comes out cheaper.
