thinking of buying one of the two computers.
I know the d820 is better built but the price difference is a bit much

If you wouldn't mind posting how much you paid for your system and what the specs of it are.
I've heard good things about both computers. and i hear the battery life is pretty good :)

I can't help with the questions you asked, but I just wanted to say I love the WUXGA option on the D820. I just wished they offered a better video card, and of course, a lower price.

Did anyone call dell to "bargain" a price?

    How much did you save?

I just used a "$750 off $1999+" but it's been said that some people have had varying degrees of success with haggling. It'll depend on the rep you get, if there've been some kind of price changes in components, etc etc. I'd imagine some people have been trying it this week for the E1505 since the weekly coupons haven't been working since Thurs and people have had to phone in their orders to get the coupon used. Then they might try to get something thrown in fr the hassle/inconvenience of the website not working, etc.

I have a D820 WUXGA, T2600, 100GB 7200RPM, 2GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM, nVidia 120m 512MB turbocache, DVD-RW DL drive, 9-cell battery (I get 4 hours watching videos on my HD, like 3:45 watching DVDs, and up to 5.5 hours just doing office, internet, chatting stuff with wi-fi on), Intel Wireless card, Bluetooth built in, XP pro WITH MEDIA, and a Dell USB optical scroll mouse for $1874 after shipping. And I believe that the 120m 512MB is better than the x1400 in 3Dmark05 I got 2020, in another review I saw of an e1505 with an x1400 it only got 1791 so this is actually better than the x1400, and also it scores better than a 7400go (the 120m is based on that GPU)

PS: The WUGXA is awesome if you end up getting the D820, I would 100% reccomend it! and I used a 30% off coupon, so keep your eyes peeled as they are rare on the Latitudes
