Ive had an e1505 for about 14 months... and I have the 9cell battery. Today when I booted it up the power light would flash orange 4 times then green... and repeat. If I take the battery out and run of AC only there is no flashing light.

The battery is cool so its not a heat issue, and the battery is showing as fully charged and the notebook works fine off the battery... just the orange flashing light has me concerned as the doc says its a bad battery.

    Any ideas?

Didn't know if you ever figured this one out...My Inspiron is doing the same thing...

only thing i can think of is i have two notebooks. one inspiron another is a different dell laptop. i'm wondering if the power cords got turned around and fried something... I wouldn't think that would be it, but aside from the blinking light everything seems to be running fine.

I got this last summer on my E6404/E1505 with the 9 cell.
Your battery is busted, you'll need to get a new one.

If you hold the charge button on the battery for 5 seconds, it will become a health meter. Each light represents a 20% battery health loss so the more lights are up, the worst your battery's condition is. Mine stopped working when the battery hit 80% failure.

I was able to find a genuine new Dell battery 9 cell on ebay for half the price of the dell website. If you need the seller's name just PM me, I should have it somewhere in my emails. I don't know if this seller is still active with E6404 batteries though...

Please do not bring up old threads. We'd rather you make a new one.
