My e1505 has no DVI. Dell has no port replicator for the 1505 that has DVI out. When I get my dream LCD monitor for photoshop work, how will I plug my 1505 into it and have digital to digital? Is this a major limitation to the 1505? Looks like the 1705 has DVI out but I don't want anything that large.

Well, if there's no DVI out, then that's that. Nothing much you can do. But to most users, the difference between DVI and a good VGA cable is not even noticable.

I went ahead and kept my e1505 on order. So when I get that high resolution monitor and with my x1600 graphics card, my VGA hookup to it will not be noticable? We will see. I think there will be a considerable resolution drop off. By then I will probably ready for a 64 bit desktop with Vista loaded in it. My e1505 then becomes an expensive field notebook for my photography work!

Any other photoshop users out there concerned about no DVI out on most of Dell's laptops?

DVI is available on port repicators for all Dell Latitude and Precision notebooks. The Precision line is the way to go for graphic work.

Tell me more. The Dell Salesman said only on XPS and 1705. the 1705 is too big and the XPS has no dual core. I know the new Latitudes have dual core. I have never heard of the Precisions. Are they dual core yet?
e1505 has no DVI out - what will be my options?
