hey there, I am looking into buying a Dell E1505. On the website there are the options:

    Intel® Core™ Duo T2250 (1.73GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB) [Included*in*Price]

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5600 (1.83GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB) [add*$135*or*$5/month1]

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB) [add*$210*or*$7/month1]

I do want a very fast notebook (have been using a very slow notebook for 2 years and am sick and tired of it). I was wondering if it is worth paying the difference for choosing a faster processor. Of course its a personal choice in the end but is it really different to be justifying the price difference? Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

If you want fast, go for the T7200. It has more L2 Cache and better FSB than the T2250.

well if you want the piece of mind that you have a premium version of the core 2 duo i would go with the T7200. however in real life you won't notice a difference between the t5600 and t7200 unless you use cpu intensive programs.

It all depends on what programs your planning to run, right now unless you plan on doing a lot of heavy video encoding, the T2250 should be more than fast enough for you.
