    Yep, they are the exact same thing but with subtle differences in options.

    The 6400 is built for business, thus it has a different, more durable motherboard.

    No, the MBs are *identical*. In fact, in Europe both the business and home machines are called 6400.

    I was told by a Dell Rep. that there is a difference in the Mobos. That is why I chose the 6400.

    Reps usually don't know much about the product they are selling. They are infact the same notebook, with small differences. They use the same motherboard, and as mini mentioned, the 6400 is sold as both in the "Home" and "Small Business" catagories.
