The E501 is an AMD based no frills "workhorse" type machine, and its good for what it is, I think its an ideal general purpose student laptop, its cheap, and more than capeable for office/homework general productivity chores. Its by no means a gaming or buisness class system. The E1505 is on a more powerful intel core duo/core2 platform with midrange dedicated graphics options, high res screen option and several media enhancements. Think of the E501 as a lower end Ford taurus, and the 1505 as lightly tricked out Ford foucus.
