Hey, I've had my e1705 for a couple weeks now, and i'm really enjoying it. It's been wiped clean and everything works great except for XP media center. It still doesn't work for playing DVD's, which i was willing to put off b/c Media Direct is working fine.
My problem now is that i just tried installing the dell usb angel tv thingy, and when i tried to get it work in media center i get basically the same 'decoder error' message.
I just installed videoLan, so i can now play dvd's in windows, however, it didn't have any effect on media center, or media player, like i'd hoped.
When i call dell and ask for the cyberlink power dvd cd, are there any other cd's i should ask for that they didn't ship w/ my puter? Are there any other downloadable solutions that could tide me over?
My ability to go off, hide from the family, and watch tv at my sister's house in chicago next weekend is the main issue here, folks![]()
Thanks!

They should send the Cyberlink Disc to you in 2 business days, but you might request Sonic Record Now if you are interested in that.
There are several free dvd decoders, but I don't know any off hand. You might try searching our forums. There have been several threads with suggestions on free decoders.
