i was thinking of getting an audigy 2 nx so i could hook up my 5.1 speakers and came across a dell usb expansion dock. really all i need is something to play my current speakers through my laptop and the dell kit is cheaper. any suggestions or reviews on the 2?

The Audigy 2 NX should be on par with the Audigy 2ZS PCMCIA notebook (which you cannot run on the e1705). That's really pretty good.

Another alternative is the new Belkin ExpressCard Docking Station - which has 5.1 capabilities. That way you could bypass getting the Audigy and the USB Expansion altogether.

The Asus XG Station is another choice. Although I do not know when it will be released. The Belkin ExpressCard Docking Station that Gautam suggests, is also a good choice.
