So just recently, whenever I put a memory card into the card reader, I always get a blue screen of death. I just reformatted my notebook again this summer and the card reader has been working normally until now.

I used the card reader a couple weeks ago and it was fine, no bsod or anything. I tried reinstalling my ricoh driver, but i'm still getting the bsod. Any ideas on how to fix this?

When I get some free time I'll probably do a dell chat, but i'd prefer not to have to deal with it. So any thoughts would be great.

Yeah, like I mentioned earlier, I tried that already, yet to no avail.

Does the bsod say bad_pool or similar? I would suggest to re-download the driver and reinstall the driver from there. If the problem still occur then try to find an older driver for the MC reader. I had the same problem with my e1505 and need to re-download the driver as some of the file was somehow corrupted during the download but I did install the driver successfully.

Yes it would be helpful if you posted what the blue screen actually says, you can usually read the whole thing by pushing the pause/break key when its displayed.

Also, what version of Windows are you using? 32 or 64bit?

I have this issue in 64bit, but not 32bit (so it is drivers)... Do the driver hunt and post more information ;)
