Does anyone else have an Inspiron E1705 with a cardreader that won't load xD cards? my reader will work with all the other card formats. i thought it was my card, but i tried it and it works in my friends E1505. Another friend of mine has a E1705, and his xD cards don't work either. anyone know if this is a driver issue in these computers? or should i send it in for repair?

My Inspiron 9400 works OK with xD cards.

The driver is the Ricoh chipset driver package.

Mine works fine with my Oly C8080 xD 1gig card. If it won't mount you may have a driver or hardware problem. When you insert the xD card do you see any drive icons appear under My Computer, any yellow question marks under Hardware Manager?

    OT,

Extra Guy, if you don't mind, what did they hit you for the 2-gig sticks and how much ram show up under 'my computer", the full 4 Gig?

    Thx

I've had zero problems with a 512 xD card in my M90 which I'm assuming is the same reader as the 1710.

i checked my system tools thing, and i didnt see any yellow ?s or anything. the driver's seemed to be ok too. my friend said if he wiggled his card around in it, also, he did the old nintendo trick, blow on the card/slot. and he can get it to work sometimes. wtf...
