I'm debating whether or not to get a e1705.

My main concern is carrying it around a lot. I will have to do this, and I would get a smaller laptop but I really like have the screen real estate that the e1705 comes with.

I have a backpack to carry the e1705. How do you most of you feel about carrying your e1705 around?

The WXSGA+ screen on the E1505 is 1680x1050. That's useful, and you can always hook up a second monitor at your main stationary locations, ie work/office, etc.

The E1705 is not _that_ much bigger than the E1505, but, the bigness gets you in everyway. You'll always need a little more room on the table, in a coffee shop you will be a little bit more bull in the china shop, you need a bigger bag, on a plane in coach fuggetaboutit, on and on.

I got the E1505 and don't even plan on moving it around all that much. I also plan on selling it after around 2 years, and I'm betting a 15" will be easier to sell off.

Unless you are hell bent for the 7900GS, I bet the E1505 with WXSGA+ screen will do you right. Just my opinions.

I was just faced with this choice, and went with the E1505.

I have the 1705, and I bought an eBags backpack to cart it around. I don't mind the added weight of a 17" laptop. Even with other items in the backpack, it doesn't bother me at all.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

I can carry around mine just fine, but like count_schemula says you'll need alittle more room with everything, as far as carrying it around you should have no problems IMO.

I have the I9300 which is basically the same as the E1705 but older model and when I first bought it last year December I would carry it to work and back but got too cumbersome.
Now I have it home hooked up to a large Monitor and I replaced my desktop with it.
Currently looking for a 14.1 or 12.1 to use for travel.

the m1210 is the best choice for an on the go pc, loads of power, good battery life, and a very small footprint for its level of performance/features

I carry to school twice a day. The weight is kinda annoying but compared to my old inspiron1100 it's still lighter.

It's all up to to buy a 15 or 17" . 15 is more portable for carrying around, If u don't mind the small screen size. If u like to enjoy ur movies or pictures along with better graphic card 7900GS on Big screen , so go for 17".
