Easiest way is to look on your packaging slip. You should have recieved one with your laptop, and you can also view it on or something similar to it on dell.com under "My Account".

Tw other ways of finding out would be to go to the plug and play monitor in device manager and under the "details" tab it will say "DISPLAY\XXXXXXX". Where the "XXXXXXX" is, it will have another code. Mine is LPL0000, which is an LG screen. It could say SEC3155 (I believe those are the right numbers), which is a Samsung screen. I know there is at least one other screen manufacturer as well, but I don't know the code for it.

The other way is to download a program called powerstrip. When you start it up it will tell you what screen you have.

No problem. Out of curiosity, are you happy with your screen? I've got the LG and I have to say that I am very happy with it. I had a Samsung before, and the LG is noticably brighter.

pretty happy with it, except for those slight dark corners, which apparently is a light spreader problem and also a prob with the samsungs, anyway

but yes, it is very bright, so much in fact that i've actually turned it down 2% in the nvid control panel
