on blank screens and same color screens, i notice darkened spots on the bottom left and right of the screen on my e1705, not too noticeable, but just wondering if it was defective or a general fact of life i just have to get used to. thanks

On the M1710 I just bought, I noticed that on the bottom left corner of the screen was a small darkended spot. Not very noticeable, but still bothers me a little none the less. I was told by someone that small spots like that on the corners are within norms for a dell lappy.

its just due to the quality of light spreader used. Due to the lids being ultra thin, they dont seem to use the same quality light spreaders as they do in larger lcd monitors wich are thicker then an entire laptop. my 1505 also has darkened corners (wich is actually just light degredation from my perspective. If I move my head right, the right side appears perfectly lit and alot of the left will appear darker). Replacements wont help, they just give you the same model of lcd panels. Every couple of months, either due to better prices or complaints on an lcd, a new model may be introduced into an older series laptop, often without any notice.
