Greetings. Ever since I bought my machine--I've had it for about a month now, I have hardly ever shut it down. True, it runs hot, but I have the I8kfanGUI to keep things under control. Throughout this time I've loaded it up with HD/GPU/CPU intensive tasks because I am a power user. Keeping this in mind, read on.

For the first time today, while browsing the web the LCD screen kind of freaked on me. It did not shut off, just changed what it was displaying. The change made it dispay a mozaic or some soft of an unwarranted pattern of white dashes and dots, arranged in diagonal lines on a light-blue background.

At this time the machine did not seem to show any other signs of malfunction. I assumed that only the screen was plagued and immediatelly shut it down through key-commands: WINDOWS, U, then U. In other words, the machine continued to work while the LCD malfunctioned. Afterwards I let it cool and restarted it. Presently I am typing from it like nothing was the matter...though something odd temporarily happened to the screen only an hour ago.

In a way this was similar to what used to happen to my old eMachines desktop when it became overloaded (it was a primitive, outdated, on-board machine).

This incedent makes me worry about the quality of my e1705. Can anyone take a guess as to the source of the strange malfunction---was it from overheating??

edit- my peak temperatures are these: CPU 58; GPU 52; RAM 54, CHIPSET 51, HD 44 -hope this somehowe helps?
