Can anyone here get edid from the vga port of their inspiron 1520s from their external monitors? I can't. I can't even get the laptop's display edid.

Says DDC isn't supported, which is weird.

Thanks for the reply, though. My laptop just can't seem to get edid info from any external monitor, which makes connecting to my large hdtv impossible =(.

Does anyone else output to a monitor with their vga output and get no edid or do I have a bad laptop? If so, this would be the only issue with the entire thing.

once again nvidia-settings for XORG running on linux

    >>maybe your laptop does have hardware problems, but i doubt it. How are you aquirring your edid?
maybe you can try using Component Video (1080i max)

That's so weird. I wonder what's causing my 1520 to not support ddc or receive edid data.

    Thanks again, lambchops
