    estimated ship date

    so this is my first time buying a laptop from dell and im a little confused about the estimated ship date. It says that my estimated ship date is april 20th so does that mean they will ship the item on the 20th or will it will arrive at my house on the 20th?

    and also how long does it usually take for the item to arrive after it has shipped from the warehouse?

    i ordered on april 6th and estimated ship date is april 20th. is it possible to recieve the laptop before april 24th?

    First, Congrat's on your first lappy purchase! :cool:

    The ESD is usually *over-projected* to protect from any potential delays such as part delays with the manufacturer, or problems in production etc.

    There is a good chance, your lappy will ship ahead of the ESD! ;)

    Once your lappy is ready to ship, you will receive an Estimated Delivery Date w/shipping information... :D
    Dell ships via FedEx now!
    How is it shipping? 3-5 business days? Next Business Day?

    You can also check your order status via your online account at dell.com or, by calling: 1-800-433-9014, and entering your 9 digit order number.

    The Automated Order Status is usually more up-to-date then the online order status! :D

    actually its shippin for free so i dont really know how many days. i just really hope it arrives here before the 24th because im leaving the country for 2 weeks and i want to be able to use it while im gone (fingers crossed) :)

    Free usually is Fedex Ground for 3-5 days.

    Also, did you order a new custom laptop or an outlet one? With new ones you can't really be sure because you have no idea how long they'll take to produce it.

    I don't believe he ordered from the Outlet..Outlet would never take that long. And, the Outet is already prebuilt returns & previously ordered new, etc. ;)

    Estimated shipping times sure don't make much sense. Two days ago I ordered the Dell Bluetooth 5-button travel mouse, and I just got the confirmation email an hour ago (which seems pretty delayed to begin with!), and when I clicked the link to my order status page, it gives me an estimated delivery date of April 25th!

    I could understand if it were a new notebook I just ordered custom made, but this is just a mouse, for crying out loud, not exactly something they have to build from scratch to my specifications. :/

    Update: I just checked my order status page, and it says it's been shipped today, and the estimated delivery date has been changed to the 14th (this Tuesday). I guess Dell just really likes to give themselves plenty of time just in case. :p

    Yeah, you will surely have it by Tuesday...Dell, I think they like to confuse themselves more at times..than they do us, their customer LOL :D

    When I've ordered accessories (alot)..I've been bewildered most of the time. lulz. :rolleyes:
