If you get an exp ship date of 2 weeks later it usually delayed if its not out of the build stage after 8 days?

It'll probably be delayed. Just saying, the orders that tend to spend an unreasonable amount of time in the build stage tend to get delayed. Mines been in the build stage for over two weeks and I suspect ill be receiving a SECOND delay here over the weekend.

I would. I've been delayed twice since I ordered on 7/4. It has been in the build stage since that day, original ship date was 7/20, then 7/27, now today it's been delayed until 8/3. I'm thinking about cancelling at this point. I've called alot trying to find out what's holding it up, but nobody knows what the **** they are talking aboutand they all try to transfer me to different departments. I have had good customer service with Dell in the past, but this is a huge exception.

It seems to be really heavily influenced by the components you configured it with, especially color choice. Dell seems to be flooded with orders and they seem to have a lot of parts on order and laptops are being delayed because of it. You won't easily be able to get straight answer on your status from a rep, though.

I ordered my 1520 on July 15th, and I've been in build pretty much the entire time. Estimated ship date has been August 8th since I ordered it though, so I haven't gotten too worried yet. But I'm half-expecting a delay since I haven't seen too many people post about having received a green laptop from them yet.

i definitely think there is a delay with the green notebooks because mine has been in freakin PRE-PRODUCTION (ughhh) for over 13 days now.... ugh, PREPRODUCTION! what the hell? i am DEFINITELY complaining to get some free stuff out of this delay if my comp doesn't ship out on the 3rd of August like they said.

I posted this in another thread, but thought I would mention it here, too.

I ordered on 7/7 with an ESD of 7/25, then got a delay notice on 7/25 moving the ESD to 8/1

About 30 minutes ago I got a call from dell telling me they were just giving me a "courtesy call update" saying my ESD was 8/22

I was very surprised, and I insisted they were wrong, as a CSR had told me online just a few hours ago that my ESD was still Wed, August 1

After stonewalling for 2-3 minutes, and the rep insisting that my ESD was now 8/22, she said "My mistake. Your ESD is August 1. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for choosing Dell, we appreciate your business" and hung up.

    VERY weird.

I have a theory that they are trying to find people willing to timidly accept a later shipping date, so they can ship to the more anxious people.
