I am considering getting the extended battery when I order my dell e1405 in the next day or two, and I was wondering if I should get it when I buy the notebook or try and buy it for less than the 99 dollatrs dell charges somewhere else. Does anybody out there have an e1405 with the extended battery, how do you like, how much does it affect portability? thnx for the advice

You probably will not get the battery cheaper elsewhere, especially if you get the second battery/upgrade the main one when you are configuring your Dell. If you know you want the 9 cell, get it when you order your e1405.

Doesn't ebay sell it usually for a lot cheaper?

Yes, buy one off ebay for around $70 for a 9 cell. It's much cheaper. Just order your e1405 with the 6 cell then order an extra 9 cell. And if you don't want the origional 6 cell you could ebay that.

If you get the 36% off, order the 6 cell as the primary and an extra 9 cell -- thats what I did and I paid something close to $80 extra and got the 6 cell and 9 cell.

How do you like the nine cell compared to the 6 cell? How is the portability and battery life?
