any one else have this problem?

when i set it to force high speed or when it's in automatic temp control and it runs the fans at 4200rpm, the fan goes on for a while and then slows down for like 0.5sec then revs up again

anyone know why and how i can fix it so it won't start and stop?

i'm using a new dell inspirion 6400 with bios a08 and i have already checked the bypass bios option in i8kfangui

    thanks

same laptop, same bios, same problem :^D

Use the "Automatic control" and custom configure you profile for the speed you want.

forget auto fan control. setting 'maintain minimum fan speed' and enabling autostart fan to slow works great for my E1505 (A08). used to have the start/stop problem aswell, but setting minimum fan speed solved it. keeps a cool ~24c.

are you setting min speed to high?

won't that shorten the ife of the fan?

and wow, 24C is really low, the lowest mine's been is like 30C on high fan

how'd you get it that low or is it that low stock?

did you underclock or is your processor running at 100% speed?

same problem with dell m1210 bios a08. anyone figure this out yet? it's driving me insane because it can't maintain a good minimum during games if it keeps stopping like this.

I have never had a problem with the fan on my E1505. I leave the fans forced to full speed. I have all of the sensors read at their fastest interval.
I also have all of the settings enabled, and the bios workaround
