I tried searching for this but couldn't find a similar thread (sorry if there is one out there!)

I've had my m1530 for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it, it's treating me incredibly well. I got the tuxedo black which I think is very sleek and classy, and have been pleasantly surprised that the outside of it isn't quite the fingerprint magnet I had heard it to be.

My problem is fingerprints on the screen! I can't believe how noticeable they are, and I'm having the hardest time cleaning them. I'm using special laptop display spray and cloth, and I can't seem to get rid of them at all. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks so much!

Take a dry microfiber cloth and rub it softly on the screen, going in little circles over the fingerprints. It works.

i spray little bit of windex and water to my paper towel and use that to clean my screen. never had problem w/ any of my laptops thus far. i did careful examination of my screens and they were all scratch free. microfiber cloth is probably your safest choice though.

I just use water and a paper towel. Does the job, I would avoid chemical solutions.

I've been using Monster ScreenClean to clean LCD screens for the past two years. It's the best product I've used. (I don't work for Monster Cable.) It doesn't contain alcohol and doesn't leave a residue. It comes with a micro fiber cloth. I think you can find it at Best Buy.

dont waste money on monster products. Most generic lcd cleaners will do the trick.

Can you name a few? The ones I tried left some sort of streaking. My bottle of ScreenClean is still practically full so the cost is minimal over time. Since I spend much of my day staring at an LCD screen, I don't mind paying a little for visual clarity.

What do you guys recommend for cleaning the outside of the laptop? Mine is red and it really is a fingerprint magnet. I want to get rid of it but I don't know what to use. Any suggestions?

I use LCD cleaner to clean it and then put on a screen protector.

Ive not tried that for the outside. Where did you pick up the flamethrower? From Dell direct???

lol, in all seriousness, I tend to use a LCD cleaning wipe for the screen, and just a soft microfibre cloth for the outside whenever I see any fingerprints.
