I found a decent priced 1555 on the outlet store so have ordered it (coming in about 2 weeks)
it says on the order form its loaded with vista. I have a retail copy of windows 7 which i bought at luanch and is installed onto my other laptop. i m looking to sell this laptop (i have a retail version of vista i can put on it)
how do i go about putting my windows 7 onto the new dell as the liscence is on the old laptop
if i unistall it off the old laptop and put vista on it is this enough to allow me to put w7 on the new dell.
sorry for long winded question thanks in advance

You should be fine - unless you've re-installed it a lot of times on your old machine, and hence requested activation a lot of times.

MS Tend to stop reactivations after they hit a threshold within a space of time - but you can call them up and explain what's going on - give them some details about your copy of the software and they can 'unlock' the activation.

You should also be eligible for a free Dell upgrade to Windows 7 although you will be charged for the shipping. I had this option on my Outlet sourced 1555 which basically gives you a full version of Windows 7 Home Premium for £15. Dell also let me change it from 32bit to 64bit before shipping.
