so since i got 2 more keys this semester for vista business i feel it was stupid that i paid for the business edition upgrade on my vostro 1500. so i called dell and asked for a refund and they offered me 65 to send back the sticker and cd. i agreed. then i realized that they never said i would get the home basic key back. so tried contacting the same guy and i couldnt get in touch with him. then i saw on their website my exact configuration for 100 less including tax minus vista buinsess. so i called dell again and told them that i think i should get the 100 back. they said how about 65 + 50 in dell coupons. i didnt want the dell coupons and asked for the money. eventually they agreed to give me 30 back in addition. thats fine with me.
anyways i have to send them my sticker, did anyone else have to do that? and im hoping that they send me the home basic sticker key, (just so when i sell the laptop it has an os on it). Anyways thats my story, another 100 off. still not a great deal, but about 750 for my total now including tax and shipping.

ugg now they are saying they cant send me a vista basic coa that i paid for! wtf i have been on the phone for hours and this is getting frustrating. anyone have any ideas? they are saying that they cant give a coa out no matter what even if it was downgraded. so since i have to send them in the one on the bottom of the laptop i will have no coa if i ever resell this laptop. does anyone have a suggestion?

ask for a full refund, then buy your version of Vista in a retail store. -
That's like 100 bucks isn't it? More expensive.

He should get more for a Vista Business refund.
I'd accept nothing short of 150 bucks. -
Did you already agree to the EULA for the copy of Vista Business on your 1500? You may have specified that in another thread, but I couldn't see it here. If you've already used the copy of Vista that you bought with your 1500, I don't think there's any way that you could, or should, get a refund for it. If you haven't agreed to the EULA, then persuing the refund seems appropriate to me, at least with what I have seen from this thread.

yeah dell could not give a refund on it so i had to reorder the system. wait time on vostros is short, eta of less than a week.
they said the reason the other systems are taking forever is they are filling a very large order for sams club/wallmart and that is why all the laditudes, inspirons, and such are so backed up. -
Oh, ok, sorry, I didn't realize that you were in the process of ordering (reordering). I suppose I could have inferred that from post #3.

if this is true, these people are the worst people i have ever seen(dell).shouldnt they think about the customers getting it directly from dell first rather than the things they sell to companies at low prices.all your orders are being canceled, while your prioritizing orders to people who really dont care if they come soon.

yeah. how dare dell try to sell their product! what awful people! [/sarcasm]
