I'm gonna order a refurb e1505 to replace my dv5020 HP.
Specs I'm looking for 2Ghz core duo, 1GB memory, 7200RPM Hd, 15.4" Ultra sharp, 9cell battery, ATI x1300 or x1400.

-I know that they're going to add more Inspiron with 2.0Ghz proccesors in few days, since they all sold out ( thats what happened last week ). Should I go with the 1.86 instead? I do multitasking ( browsing internet while watching some Divx TV shows, running bittcomet, and a little gaming, but I want it to last for as long as possible.
    - How loud are the built in speakers? in my HP, they're quite impresive.
-I need bluetooth built in, but sometimes refurb ones don't come with it, so I went to dell website but I can't seem to find bluetooth for the E1505 in parts department.
-I have a 4200RPM, 8MB buffer in this HP now, but I think it's terrible. So, I want to go with 7200RPM, or should I just go with 5400RPM instead? When costomizing the E1505 it shows this
    http://www.dell.com/content/learnmo...otebooks&~lt=popup&~series=inspn&~tab=details
Only 100+GB have 8mb buffer though.
-How long did it take your refurb lappy to arrive @ your door?

I haven't ran all mentioned programs at one time, but 1.66GHz was powerful enough to handle many apps at same time. And I heard the going from 1.86GHz to 2.0GHz doesn't gain much processing powers as many people thinks.

Other then no bass issue, sounds were louder then any laptop I've heard and it was clear.

just search for bluetooth 350 on Dell website or ebay. It should work on all Dell models that support bluetooth technology.

The faster drives will load things at much faster speed but it will have a heat issues. Personnally I will get 5.4k, if I want my laptop to last long, but I would go for 7.2k since I am not planing to use mine more then 2-3 years.

I ordered mine on Friday evening and it looks like I am going to receive it Thursday. So 3-5 business days (depends on where you live) seems right.

Thanks alot for the great tips. The only thing left, is a laptop cooler, which one fits the E1505 the best? I saw alot of em in newegg but don't want to buy one and find out it's not the right one for the E1505. I'm going to be using 2 USB's for my external hard drive so if the cooler has a USB hub, that would be great, not a must though.

yea, I was like FTW when I saw that link too, but looks like it's outdated or something

In dell website, they selling it for $69 ,but in e-bay it's much cheaper ~$40.
    Is that the cheapest price?

Can I ask why you are replacing the HP? When did you get it vs getting rid of it?

I'd stick with the T2400 (1.83GHz) unless you have the extra money for the 2.0GHz T2500. Not sure what your budget is.
They won't be as good as the ones on your HP's (they have the best speakers in a mainstream notebook), but from what I remember, they were pretty good.
That is a very slow drive indeed. I would go for higher RPM (7200) if possible and sacrifice the CPU speed if you have to.

I got it 4 months ago, it had a turion ml-32, 1gb, 80gb 4200rpm, dvd+-RW ,15.4" wxga glossy, 6-cell, ATI x200 128mb ( shared ). I got it as refurb for $760. Reason for selling it is to get the dual core and a better gfx card. I thought about upgrading the processor to an ML-44 or MT-40, and replacing the hard drive with a faster one. But, the gfx card was the reason I sold it.

My limit is $1100 after tax. But, I'm going to Middle Ease after 10 days, and need the laptop as soon as possible.

They're really good in HP, But I went to check DELL laptops in the Mall But they uninstalled the sound card driver or something, I couldn't check how good the speakers were. But, they're not gonna be as terrible as the B140 though? a friend of mine has the B140, and the sound is really low.

A friend of mine bouhgt the 7200RPM hitachi 60GB off mewegg, but it gets HOT, and when defragminting/ running some heavy apps it makes high noises in his HPDV5000. I can't hear it when the TV, music is on, but when the room is silent, I hear the noise coming out of the hard drive.

Great man, I'm worried about the condition of the laptop. Some1 ordered a refurbushed E1505 and when he got it, there was a LOT of deap scratches and dents, the keyboard was missed up and he was so unhappy. I orderd mine on the 26th at 6AM and when I try to track it, it shows this:
Your tracking number will be provided when your shipment arrives at the carrier's regional center. This can take 48-72 hours. Please check back to obtain your tracking number through this tool .

So, does that mean, after those 72 hours, it's gonna take up to aditional 5days to ship it? :(

i think it means that after 72 hours it will be at the delivery centre for whatever courier they used, although mine said that on the day it was delivered, i checked it in the morning, went downstairs made a cup of tea and about 10 minutes later i saw someone walking up my drive way with a dell box :)

Yeah, I know about the speakers, but I'll end up buying an audigy USB card or sometihng better? and hoking it up to my speakers. But a 10% ?? man I didn't know about that.

edit: that 10% is for systems $999 and higher though.

I'm shopping for a bluetooth mouse, headphones (worth it?), external enclosure for my 250GB PATA drive, and a 9-cell battery. How does it work for the battery though, I'll have a 6-cell battery and want to use both of them. So, do you use 1 till the system shuts down or few minutes before then remove and plug the new one? but, if I want to use the batteries, there woun't be any power sorce near by i.e airplane. So, I'll lose all the work and plug the other battery in?

whats the difference between those two?

$9 difference, but only thing I see is the color difference. Am I mising something? or is it just cause it's a newer model!

For bluetooth Headphones, what do you guys recommend?
