That 4 year will jump your price alot. I wouldn't pay that much for a 6000. You could almost get a 9300 for that price, but you do have the best coverage. Did you not get any coupon to use?

I don't see a problem with that price considering you got complete care and the DVDRW drive. True, i9300's can be had at around those prices but only stripped models without a lot of the extra options and extended warranty coverage. If someone got the system you got at a cheaper price, the variance is probably only by within $100. Close enough.

hmm not so good deal imho. i just bought this 9300. here are the specs:
    Intel® Pentium® M Processor 730 (1.60 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)
17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife
256MB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 1 Dimm (upgrade via newegg later)
    256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800
60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive (note the rpm, its going to be better for games right coz i'm paying like $100 extra over an 100 gb for it!?)
    8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability
3Yr Ltd Warr,At-Home Service, and Tech Support plus Nights and Weekends
    total cost: $2324
    40%off + 2% off dpa + $35 off coupon(ebay) + shippnig/handling + tax
    total cost: $1431.14

i tried to make it as much a gaming rig as possible, w/o blowing too much money. what do you think? good deal?

Yep, without the warranty, it would likely go for under $1000. I've seen many i6000's configured for less than $1000 in fact, albeit without the extended warranty and Complete Care. I guess the $750 off deals can cut the price in half, though you usually have to buy a big warranty with those coupons too, to be eligible.

you are never going to get the kind of deals that those ebay auction dudes get. they have done this many times. the best bet is outlet w/ coupon, or you get lucky in ebay auction.

the more options you add to your laptop, the worst the deal gets, because they make big money on the upgrades.

you save more money doing the upgrades yourself, and only upgrade those components that you can't upgrade by yourself. But you have to spend more time and effort, and that's money too.

also each time the deal comes, the base price is different, and the upgrade prices changes. so you have to be patient and wait it out.

some of the best deals actually come from the small business unit, where u get free upgrades on top of the coupons...

so if you don't think u get a good deal, sell it or return it, and wait for the next deal...
