Well i got my vostro and am happy so far. Pretty fast overall, 1.6 dc2, 2gb, 120hd, 8400, xga tl. Runs quiet and also very cool, warms up though gaming but not crazy hot. Smokes my friends sonys speed wise and only paid 700. pLAYED TF2 AND FEAR looked good ran well. Looks are pretty good because i thought the worst, thats why i didn't get at 1500, due to weight. Black and tough. cheapest wireless card has been great and fast. picked up next door house with it and thats kinda far. Easy to connect to network and boots fast. Vista feels the same too me a xp i don't see what the big deal is, hasn't crashed once. everything works media wise. take alot of gb though and that sucks.
LCD... well its pretty good. colors dont seems too bright at first but i dont know it look better now after a few days, kinda weird. my friends sony and macbook pros were better angle wise and brighter, again 700$ to 2000$. If you look from aways back it looks shaper and better. Are desktops brighter in gen? I have a LpL000 anyone know the make? Is TL better from a far view instead of close up on pupose? any free color calib program out

>>> Are desktops brighter in gen?
Desktop monitors should be brighter in general.
>>> I have a LpL000 anyone know the make?
It's LG - Philips or something like that. Supposedly one of the better screens out there.
>>> Is TL better from a far view instead of close up on pupose?
What?
>>> any free color calib program out there?
I know there is, but I forget the name of it, you'll have to wait for the next guy here.
>>> vista home premuim woRth the upgrade?
If you don't have any qualms with your current Vista installation, then no. The Aero does look nice but it will indeed use more resources. If you really want the Aero... then by all means go for it.
got my 1400 a few questions and quick review
