Simple, do you have any problem with it? If not, it is ok. I had my notebook for almost 3 yrs now, although lately I found a crack on the pastic casing of the hinge, but its works perfectly.

there was before, 3 months ago. it was not booting and needed to restart for several times before it goes to windows. and it gave a sound. but i don't have any problem at present and this is the only time i can attend to it after my busy sked last few months...so i'm thinking if my lappy's hardware components are all working well...

Hm, interesting.
Make sure that you do a maintence on your notebook, used air compressor can to blast off dust, especially on the heatsink and fan.

Well, for some piece of mind you have the free hardware check..
Dell has an internal hardware check that you activate by starting the laptop by holding down the powerbutton and the FN key. You will see the diagnostic boot message on the screen. During the second half of the test you can specify certain test and for how long, handy for memory tests. This works for the --05's and a few others, not sure here.
Your problems sounds more like Windows issues.. -
ok, i will try your suggestion though i am not encountering the same problem few months ago. thanks!

yeah, i tried your suggestion and chose the quick and extended check up of my hardware components. and it is all working well!!!thanks for the info...

Like others said, you might have a prolem with Windows. It wouldn't hurt to do a reformat jus to get a clean slate and this would be good "maintaniance" as it would ensure that everything was working as far as software is concerned.
