    hdd does not boot (PBR 2) but media direct works and is able to access files

    Hi, my battery died and when i tried to turn it on (with ac) it wouldnt boot up. i let the battery charge. but still no boot up.

    it freezes at PBR 2... done

    so I ran the diagnostics. it came up with DST Short test failed. MSG Log has previous error(s) (or something like that)

    i looked up some articles on google, everyone pretty much said that my hdd is dead and i need to replace it.

    then i pressed the media direct button and it started. i searched for music and it found some. (i listened to make sure)

    is this a hardware problem? or just software?
