So, I am wondering is it worth spending additional £70.00 on a 160gb hdd with 7200rpm?

Does anyone have experience with it? Could it be compared to other laptops?

I read many threads on this but didn't manage to get the answer.

It depends. A few here have had the 160gb hdd (5400rpm) upgraded for free to the 7200rpm version as apparantly some hard drives cause a ticking noise. In the end i think if your on a budget then its not worth it.

I also want to know will it affect gaming much?

cause if I want to play cod2 online or else will there be lag and skipping caused by low rpm? or is it quite enough for that?

and could someone estimate or even have experience on battery life with 7200 rpm on Vostro 1400?

Listen the only thing it will affect is how long it takes for programs to start. It has no affect what so ever on lag ingame. The only way it affects gaming is the loading at the beggeging of the map. Even then it doesnt take long too load. Im my opinion its not a upgrade worth taking unless you just won the lottery and want a fully loaded laptop.
