the screen is horrible u have to keep adjusting it cos of the glare
it acts as a mirror reflecting virtually everything!

Not really...it's often more of a problem in office environments and on certain backgrounds, like black. You could apply a filter, but if you don't like it you're better off sending it back.

That is the UltraSharp screen. The TrueLife is the glossy. If you need it next week, one option would be to return the Dell and get one locally.

Ya, reading that thread title I got a bit worried there would be some manufacturer problem with this Dell, again. But now that I see the thread, applecorn isn't adjusted to the reflective screen. That won't be changing so if you don't like it, send it back. It's personal preference.

It is a simple matter of your eyes adjusting. In fact I think it produces one of the best "true to life" images for most computer screens.

It is a great screen, maybe try looking at the screen and not focusing on your reflections when they appear.

Maybe try adjusting the Brightness (Fn + Up or Down) and see if that will help change the glare or at least cut it down a bit. Good luck!

I've heard yes and no, but not a definate answer. One can try calling them and if prompted for restocking fee, be asertive not to pay. I know I wouldn't want to be paying that rediculus "fee".

If there is a fee, its 15% at the most. Im sure dell gets you somewhere when doing this.

15% out of your pocket just like that. On a $2000 notebook that is $300! I wouldn't be pleased if asked to pay for that - that's the amount of tax here in Ontario. Could be spent nicely somewhere else.
