    i've reformated my OS..I followed the instruction..but i skipped the AHCI installation during installing the OS..because i dont have AHCI driver..then after the installation is done...i installed all the drivers..there's a time that error pop ups.it says windows will automatically shut down to prevent damage...Driver IRQL not less or equal..and says use safe mode to install or uninstall any drivers...i dont know how to solve this problem help.. :((

    Something must have gone wrong during the installation because that message should not be happening. Try re-installing Vista again. Don't worry about installing the AHCI driver during re-installation, it's not necessary. After Vista is installed and running, install the drivers from Dell, starting with the chipset driver. I recommend downloading the most recent ones from Dell's website and putting them on a USB drive before re-installing Vista. Then you can just install the drivers from that drive.
