Dell US refused to send a M1530 to Thailand and I asked Dell Japan to send it to thailand , they did but they are asking me to send it back to Japan.

    And I did.

Basically, what they're saying is something internal law of Thailand prohibites dell to sell the M1530. But I think it is strange considering the Vostro 1500 is available via Dell(business) site here but they do sell it to a business only.

So the Vostro 1500 ,the XPS M1530 are no longer my options since my Thai visa requires me to stay in Thailand , I will have to buy something I can get on line here or at a local .

After 8 hours of reserch I found a couple of local dealors selling Dells, they have 4 models( 2 Inspirons ,1 XPS and 1 Vostro1400).

And now, I am comparing the 2 (M1330 and 1420), I actually bought 2 but I will return or sell it to my friend who wants to buy a Dell.

    1 Inspiron 1420(Jet black and Pink): T8100, 160gb hd, 2gb ram , nv8400gs with128 gddr3 , 14.1 WXGA+.

    2 XPS M1330(Red, Black or white): T8100, 160gb 7200rpm,2gb, nv8400gs with 128mb gddr3, 13.3 inch WXGA.

I like the Inspiron screen resolution better but I like the XPS HD better and I like the look and feel of the XPS , I can carry it to my school but the Inspiron is so heavy , maybe as heavy and bulky as the 15.4 XPS or HP DV6700.

Also another realistic option is to get back to a HP DV3006 or DV2761tx.

I had the DV2700T before the XPS M1530 but I liked Dell better , but I could not keep it longer because of the stupid international trade or weapon regulation. So I may get the HP DV2761TX , which is now hugely discounted(I guess ,HP montevina will be here out soon).

    The HP DV2761TX: T8300, 250gb, 5400(hitachi),nv8400gs with 128mb gddr3,14.1 inch wxga.

Which do you think better XPS M1330 or Inspiron 1420? being in Thailand makes it very difficult to buy a decent Dell.

I dont like Acer,BenQ, ASUS, Apple and Sony, they are sold every where here but I dislike them very much.

Oh forgot my last option the Lenovo Ideapad Y510, which is a completely different config than its US version.

    Y510-TO743: T7500,250gb(fujitsu), nv8600GT with 256mb GDDR3, 15.4 inch WXGA, 4965N wireless.

Other than its size and LCD , I loved the Lenovo but its LCD is too glossy........

I dont like a big laptop since I have a desc top and mostly I use my school PC (Lenovo R61), so should I keep the M1330 or just keep the Inspiron 1420 for its WXGA+ LCD resolution?

i think you should return 1420,cos it is ddr2 not ddr3 and 1330 looks cooler an is lighter!

Depends what your using it for .. Only school work or gaming aswell? Id suggest the Lenovo but the HP is also a good option.. Make sure the warantee stuff is in order if you go with Dell..
