First of all, I actually am a university student I'm not trying cheat Dell in any way. What happened was that I used my .edu email address to register an account on delluniversity.com before the coupon was available. Now when I go to the website and click on the link to get the coupon it tells me that my email address has already been used to create and account and to login. But when I login it doesn't send me the coupon. I've sent Dell several emails about this and they simply don't reply. I've also tried creating an account with an alternate email address and sending them proof that I am a student (my acceptance letter), that hasn't worked either.

Could someone here either tell me how to resolve this problem or give me their unused $200 coupon code. I really need to order this laptop ASAP and don't want to pay $200 more than I should have to.

If you don't believe that I am a college student I will PM you my .edu email address as proof and you can send the coupon code to my email address.

Have you tried calling a sales rep and tell them about the problem?

I think that $200 coupon is for new accounts only, and since you already created one. Of course, I might be wrong...but give them a call and see what they say. There might be some kind of problem with their website (errors have happened before!).

I think he's capable of doing that himself.

I've actually had the exact same problem, down to trying the alternate e-mail address. I hope you post back here with your results, so I can find out what I need to do.

I gave up on trying to fix the problem through Dell. My friend who already has a computer for college gave me his coupon in exchange for me helping him fix his computer.

Yeah if you have any friends that go to the same school as you that is the best way to do it. I had my friend just sign up for it real quick and he forwarded me the email with the coupon code.

They don't even have to go to the same school as you, they just need to have a .edu email address.

Also, not all schools are eligible. This is the message I get when I enter my email and choose my school:

"The not-so-bad news: You're not eligible for the promotional coupon. Your school and Dell have already partnered to give you the deepest savings available on recommended systems."
