    More details plz.

What laptop, what operating system, how old is it, have you changed anything recently, etc?

You shouldn't have to hit keys more than once to register...does this only affect particular keys, or all of them? Does it always happen, or does it ever work normally?

Judging from the way your posts are missing letters, it seems something is wrong. :p

Is this the factory installation of Vista, or did you reformat and reinstall Vista from the disk?
