    heres the error msg, http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3859&d=1159861828

also heres a couple other questions:

i seem to have one dead pixel as it remains white all the time and i was wondering what are my options to remedy this or will I have to live with it?

if i hit ctrl+f11 right at the dell bootup screen will this really reset my notebook to factory settings (i havent partioned anything yet or reformatted yet) since I did it once before and the bluetooth icon doesnt look like its in the factory state?

On the error message, run memtest86 to see if you have any memory errors. You might have a memory stick going bad.

Dell won't replace your screen unless you have 7 dead pixels. If you are in your 21 day return period, you might try arguing with dell to see if you can get a replacement based on the fact that you are not happy with your laptop. Another option is to try running a program that will try to bring the pixel back to life. There are several free ones on the net, but it is not guranteed to work especially with dead pixels. It generally only works on stuck pixels - and that is only a maybe.

Yes, if you hit ctrl + f11, it will return your laptop back to factory conditions as long as you haven't messed with the partitions or formatted. Press Ctrl + F11 at the dell logo screen during boot up. Make sure to back up all of your information before you do this.

you can download it from the net and run it. Also, if you did not delete partition 1, you can do the dell diagnostics test which will test all of your hardware. To do this, reboot and press F12 to get to the 1 time boot menu. Then choose the Dell Diagnostics.
