    i need a inspirn 1520 bios cd. can someone point me to a download? i can't make a bootable cd from dell's site.

    A BIOS CD? On Dell's you usually perform the BIOS install from within Windows.

    If you cannot access Windows somehow, you'll need to create a bootable DOS CD and place the BIOS executable on the CD before you burn it:

    Just wondering, why do you want to update the BIOS from a bootable disk ? Are you only using Linux or something ?

    The above instructions are given on the download page of _1520 even though notebooks don't have floppy drives; nice instructions _DELL :p.
    Instead, you have to make a bootable CD and copy the BIOS executable.
