    i want upgrade ram on my latitude d620 , i have 1 ddr2 667(from dell) already on my notebook, i open the cover under notebook , but i cannot see the ram , where is it? i need to find it ,for buy the same brand name ,thanks

    There or two different locations for RAM on several Dell laptops, the D620 being one of them (according to the service manual anyway). Since you purchased 1 module from Dell, they probably installed it in the location that is more difficult to access, underneath the keyboard. They left the slot under the bottom panel empty,making it easier for users to upgrade.

    With that said, you don't need to buy the same brand of RAM when you're upgrading. I've been able to run in dual channel mode with different brands/sizes; however, if you MUST know the brand and specs of the installed RAM, you can just run a program called CPU-Z. You'll be able to get the above information, without opening anything up.
