There shouldn't be any restrictions on your being able to resell it.

EPP programs are like employee benefits. I've purchased a Dell through my company's EPP plan and don't recall any restrictions on reselling it or giving it away.

Sure. Most EPP programs limit the number of units a person can buy. And if Dell found out that someone was buying/reselling at a profit, they might have a problem with it.

Check the terms and conditions (or program terms or something like that) at Dell's EPP site.

Yeah, I got slammed by the folks there. Guess when you're sitting in a Coke-and-Skittles induced sweat for a sweet new notebook that you might have purchased under somewhat questionable terms, you get a little edgy. :err:

The Lenovo issue isn't really related to your question. But in short:

Somehow or another, an employee's EPP identification became known on the web. A bunch of people purchased equipment from Lenovo using that EPP info.

The employee is a real employee of Lenovo. No one knows how/why the info became public or if there are any ramifications for the folks who bought equipment using that employee's info. A complicated mess.

As for the Lenovo issue, around Memorial Day, people stacked the Memorial Day sale, the EPP discount of one "Brian Meyers", and a combination of various other cash-back and discount promotions (fat wallet, AMEX Tailor-made, etc.) to get over 40% off the newly released T61. (Not sure of the exact %). In any case, as supplies at Lenovo quickly ran short and shipping dates started being pushed back to late August (although later revealed to be a bug), other rumors spread of whether or not Lenovo would honor these sales, the legality of these purchases, etc. etc. etc.
