uh this is kinda stupid but is it possible to get a wuxga or glossy screen like order it somewhere (if so where) and replace it with my non glossy screen on my dell 9400 thatd be kinda stupid though
and next if i upgraded to 2 gigs of 600 somethimg mhz from 1 gb 500 something would i see a change like better perfomance in games and such

You can replace the screen but it is rather expensive. To me its not worth it.
The difference for ram would be small. You already have a gig and I dont think its worth the money because the difference would be small. -
the first part - yes, you can order a screen. I would order from Dell Spare Parts. The reason is because supposedly if you order parts from them it is still covered under your orginial warranty. I'm trying to find out the real answer right now since I had problems with my screen that I bought from them. Once I find out if it is covered, i'll let you know. The problem is that it is a bit expensive. It costs about 500 for a 17in WUXGA+ w/ truelife screen
Other possibilities would be to go to ebay or screentekinc.com and have them put a glossy coat on it.
Personally, I love the truelife screen and wish that mine hadn't broke. The matte just looks so dull in comparison to it.
As for your second question, see the following thread for more details on the 533 vs. 667

I forgot exactly what they do to it, but they can repolarize your current screen so that it is a glossy screen.
and parts bought from dell spare parts are only covered under 90 day warranty. -

As far as I know, newegg does not deliver to Canada. I think we've had users try to buy from Newegg before, and they couldn't get the products shipped to anywhere outside the US.
