i have a dell e1705 and am having trouble using my tv as a monitor.i have the geforce go7900 gs.my tv is rear projection type, newer model.it has 3 svideo inputs,i have tried all 3 with no luck.
i tried going through media center and havent had any luck there either.just tells me tuner hardware.im not trying to watch tv,just use it for pics and vids.
thought this would be a no brainer, svideo from laptop to svideo on tv set but apparently theres more to it thank i know.
Can anyone offer any insight please? dells website was found to be lacking....

    thanks

Have you tried using the Function commands to send a signal?

it won't just work when you plug it in. you have to either use the function keys to switch monitors, or you have to change it in your display settings (right click on desktop, properties, settings)
