how are the dell xps m1530s from the dell outlet? does it break easily? it it dirty? clean? is it trustable and depandable? i was thinking getting dell vostro, but it's too big for my liking, so i was thinking of purchasing a dell xps m1530 from the outlet store with a coupon (when a new coupon comes out). so how is it?

I got one from the Dell Outlet. It's perfect. Great condition (albeit some fingerprint marks), beautiful screen, and everything just works wonders. =]

Yeah, Outlet dells have warranty's too. If anything except the cosmetics of the notebook are defect then you can use the warranty. E.g If theres a scratch then tough but if theres HD failure or grainy screen then your fine for a replacement screen/Hd to be sent.

I got one too. Looks brand spanking new!

No fingerprints no nothing..just brand new looking machine.

I got the Samsung screen but got them to replace it with the LG.

If you do find problems hardware wise with it make sure you get it all taken care of within your 20 day return policy period. Document everything and order them to fix everything right away, they will (beause they don't want you to return it!) So far I got them to replace not only my screen, but my palmrest (including touchpad), and the power supply.

What res screen did you have and are you in the UK or US?
What part number did they order for you?
Were there any marking on the new screen when it arrived (before the engineer installed it) which identified it as a LG Screen?

Reason for questions is I have one on order to be replaced under warranty on Tues...

I just returned a 1530 2 weeks ago, so there is one with a nice, bright LG screen sitting out there of the 2.2Ghz w/ 4M cache, 3G ram, 200G 7200rpm variety. :)

They wouldn't credit me the $75 for the reduced HD upgrade which hit a week after I got it, so had to send it back...and now going with a faster 1720 (calling it the XPS killer @ 2.5G w/ 6M cache). :)

I did short you a remote, but I was more than gentle with it... :)

I have bought both a new and outlet m1530 and am happy with both. Here are the differences:

    1. No notebook slip
    2. laptop packed in stryrofome rather than matching box.

My outlet computer had the fingerprints also but nothing than can't be wiped f. I used a coupon for my purchase and there's no better value in laptops today in price/performance/weight.
