    how do I get the on-screen green text and the Fn button to work after a format....

    first of all I DID search.... never got any answer to this question... and if some one can answer me on how they did find a answer to this question... please tell me what you put in the search field to find it...now... I have a 1720.... did a full format... runs super fast but I don't know what to install to make the on-screen text to work when I hit volume and stuff like that.. and also.. how do I get the Fn key to work again to let me know about the battery status. thanks..

    You need to install QuickSet from the Dell website.
